This is a wonderful story by Joanna Grace. I am reading it with my students at the moment and they are really enjoying it. It only has eight sentences which are supported by a sensory resources. The story only costs £12 and it costs very little to buy the sensory resources to go with it. This story is a must buy !. Sensory Play 'Water Beads' made with Basil Seeds

Today we made water beads from Basil Seeds something which we hadn't tried before in class. Much messier than normal water beads but non toxic!. The students really enjoyed exploring this new sensory material squishing, squashing, patting and smearing with their hands. They are really easy to make ! All you need is the following 1 Tablespoon of Basil Seeds (see above) 1 1/4 cups of water A few different coloured water based poster paints  (This will make quite a thick recipe, but if you want to make them float just add more water) We added different colours to our water beads using standard water based poster paints to make them look more appealing for our students, you can use food colouring but have noticed in the past this can stain hands.The paints worked really well and created some really bright and eye catching water beads. Not so bright after this student had been playing with them for a while, but they had lots of messy fun! ...
